Serving Our Community: The Lifesaving Impact of Advance Temple Blood Drives
At Advance Temple, our commitment to charity and relief is more than just words—it’s action. One of the most direct ways we serve our community is by hosting regular blood drives. Blood is a vital, irreplaceable resource that hospitals rely on every day, and by opening our doors, we help ensure that patients in need have access to this lifesaving gift.
A Tradition of Service
Our blood drives are designed to make donating easy and convenient for everyone—members and non-members alike. This tradition reflects the core values of Freemasonry: helping others and strengthening our community through practical, meaningful service.
Champions of the Cause
Two outstanding members have been instrumental in making our blood drives a success:
Brother Rodney Artis
As Chairman of the Queens Masonic Association’s Blood Drive Committee, Brother Rodney Artis has dedicated years to organizing these vital events. In May 2024, he was honored by the New York Blood Center for his service—a surprise to the humble Brother Rodney, who credits the success of the drives to his fellow committee members and the supportive Astoria community. His story is a testament to the power of teamwork and community spirit.
Brother Jamshed R. Ghadiali
Brother Ghadiali’s journey began in 1965 with a single, spontaneous donation in Mumbai. Over 57 years, he has donated blood an astonishing 350 times, saving countless lives and inspiring others to join the cause. Even after setbacks and deferrals, he always returned to give again. His advice is simple and powerful: “Don’t wait—ask your doctor, check your eligibility, and let the professionals guide you. You cannot regret the times you could have given but did not—just do it.”
Join Us, Make a Difference
Every donation matters. Whether you’re a first-time donor or a regular, your contribution can save lives. We invite you to join us at our next blood drive—help us continue this tradition of compassion and service. Together, we can make a real difference in our community.
